The State Tretyakov Gallery and VTB launched an art campaign timed to coincide with the exhibition "Peredvizhniki" (supported by the bank) and the opening of the new building of the museum on Kadashevskaya Embankment in Moscow, the press service of the organizers reported. One thousand commemorative postcards will be sent to 500 leading galleries and museums in 52 countries, as well as to 500 media outlets in 107 countries as a symbol of the significance of the ongoing cultural dialog with Russia in the international space.

"The Tretyakov Gallery is the main museum of Russia's national art, reflecting its unique contribution to world culture. We are proud of the distinctive genius of Russian artists; it makes a significant contribution to the formation of national cultural identity. For many years VTB has been supporting projects to popularize culture at home and abroad, and each time we are inspired by Russia's rich heritage," said VTB Senior Vice President Natalia Kochneva.

The idea of the project continues the traditions of the 19th century Itinerant artists, who sought to make art accessible to everyone, regardless of their status or location. To this end, they organized exhibitions of fine art throughout Russia. The project gives this mission an international dimension, speaking of the value of art beyond boundaries and borders.

"In 2024, we present the central exhibition project of the year of the State Tretyakov Gallery - the exhibition Peredvizhniki. The Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions for 50 years of existence covered several dozen cities of the Russian Empire with its enlightening practice. Continuing the traditions established by the master painters of that era and inspired by their enlightening ideas, we are expanding our audience and invite people not only from Russia but also from around the world to visit the exhibition in the new building of the State Tretyakov Gallery," says Tatyana Yudenkova, curator of the exhibition "Peredvizhniki".
