Denis Kulaga, military correspondent of Izvestia, won the Golden Pixel award in the Best Military Correspondent category. The winners were awarded on December 11 in Moscow Region.

More than 100 people participated in the contest, 19 of them became laureates, 15 winners and four prize-winners. The awards were presented by the Governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov.

As the presenters of the award ceremony noted, Kulaga covered the combat work of the Cossack brigade "Terek" in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). He was severely wounded while carrying out the mission, but managed to "get back in formation."

"We were already finishing our movie about the 1st Tank Army and in general about the situation in the special operation zone when tragedy struck: we were blown up on an ATV. I managed to survive and save the materials, which is important," the journalist said.

According to him, this changed the "degree" of the movie.

Kulaga's documentary "Tanks to Battle", dedicated to the 1st Guards Tank Army, was first aired on October 19 on REN TV. The movie tells how the Russian military is adapting to new methods of combat operations. One of the features of the picture is that it is shot in the first person.

During the filming in September 2024, when the war correspondent was moving around the outskirts of the town of Chasov Yar, his ATV was hit by a Ukrainian kamikaze drone. Among the dead was the driver of the transport, and Kulaga was seriously injured. The movie shows footage of the incident.
