Geriatricians have identified a cause of rapid aging

Valery Novoselov, a geriatrician, gerontologist, chairman of the gerontology section of the Moscow State University's MOIP, said on Wednesday, December 11, how to slow down the aging process.

According to the specialist, aging, in addition to age, is affected by other factors.

"In order not to age, you need to eat a more balanced diet than Russians eat. Our diet is unbalanced towards carbohydrate food. We should eat less buns, bakery products, candy. We even have such traditions: we sit down to drink tea, and there are lambs and gingerbread. This all leads to a decrease in glucose tolerance, so to hyperinsulinemia," - said the expert in conversation with "Radio 1".

Gerontologist noted that the main principle of a healthy and long life is a tasty, varied and balanced diet.

"It is better to choose quality products, excluding various unhealthy snacks, for example, on the street, hastily. Variety of nutrition is fish, meat, and fiber. Or you follow a diet, but on the recommendation of a doctor, taking into account all your peculiarities", - said Novoselov.

He added that aging is also affected by sufficient motor activity and genetics.

On December 10, Novoselov said that ready meals, frozen pizza, sodas and bread can contribute to faster aging because they contain an excessive amount of carbohydrates, RT reports.

Earlier, on December 6, nutritionist and candidate of medical sciences Darya Rusakova listed the products that contribute to the preservation of youth. The list included fruits and vegetables. The doctor also advised to include nuts and seeds in the diet, reports 360.ru.
