- The DPRK linked the political crisis in South Korea to the government's "fascist dictatorship"

The South Korean government's imposition of martial law in the country and possible impeachment of President Yun Seok-yol are a consequence of the establishment of a "fascist dictatorship". The Korean Central Telegraphic Agency (KCTAK), operating in the DPRK, reported.
"A shocking incident has occurred. The puppet [ruler] Yun Seok-yol, facing a serious crisis of power and the danger of impeachment, did not hesitate to declare martial law and direct the weapons of fascist dictatorship against the people [of the Republic of Korea]," the material said.
The agency emphasizes that what happened demonstrates to the world "the fragility of South Korean society," and President Yun Seok-yol will eventually be forced from office.
According to the Financial Times, the CTAC report is Pyongyang's first reaction to the events in Seoul.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that former South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun attempted to commit suicide. At the moment he is in a detention center in Seoul, his condition is not causing concern.
Earlier, on December 9, South Korean President Yun Seok-yol was banned from leaving the country amid an investigation into his order to temporarily impose martial law. At the same time, it was reported that the police imposed a travel ban on former South Korean Interior Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min. Former ROK Armed Forces counterintelligence commander Yeo In-hyun and Army Chief of Staff Park Ahn-soo, who was appointed martial law commander, were also banned from leaving the country.
Before that, on December 8, Korean Newsis reported that South Korea's Minister of Internal Affairs and Security Lee Sang-min had resigned. His decision was approved by the country's President Yun Seok-yol. On the same day, South Korea's prosecutor's office assigned Yoon Seok-yol the status of a suspect in the case of rebellion against the state system. The country's prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into a claim by opposition lawmakers that the Korean president committed treason.
Yun Seok-yol declared martial law in the country on December 3. The reason for such a step he called the threat of paralysis of power, arising from attempts to conduct impeachment proceedings. Commander of the emergency regime, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces Park Ahn-soo noted that until martial law is lifted in the republic, the activities of the parliament, political parties and associations are prohibited. Military equipment was brought to the streets of Seoul.
The opposition party of the republic, in turn, demanded the resignation of the head of state and said it intended to accuse Yoon Seok-yeol of treason. At the same time, all heads and senior secretaries of the presidential administration resigned. In addition, the country's labor unions announced a general strike.
