Putin called AI one of the tools for China's technological development

China is making huge steps in its technological development, including through artificial intelligence (AI). This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the AI Journey 2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence on December 11.

The head of state called Chinese President Xi Jinping a man who looks into the future, noting his attitude to innovation. In addition, Putin pointed to the external and internal transformation of Shanghai through the use of modern management tools.

"China as a whole is making simply huge steps in its technological development and in the application of the most important tools of this development. Of course, AI, which you are professionally engaged in, is one of such crucial tools," the Russian leader noted.

During the same speech, the Russian leader noted that AI technologies have transformed the face of entire industries in Russia over the past year. Putin pointed out that Russia has become the most important platform for discussing advanced technologies, and added that the country needs to be at the forefront of large-scale worldwide technological changes.

Earlier, on December 2, it was reported that it has become popular in China to buy pets with built-in artificial intelligence (AI). Zhang Yi, CEO of iiMedia Research Institute, told a robotics conference in Beijing that such companion robots in the form of pets have high commercial potential among buyers because of their "cute" appearance. It is noted that AI-powered simulators are of a large variety, and their advantage is that they do not require special care and daily walks.
