Ukraine's resources received as a result of support from the USA may be depleted sooner than in six months if the aid is stopped due to the high level of corruption in the country. This was stated by Duma deputy Dmitry Novikov on Wednesday, December 11.

"Ukraine will have enough reserves for six months only if the funds are really used in the interests of the country. But in view of the presence of well-established corruption schemes, I think the resources would be depleted even faster," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.

According to him, a complete stop of support for Ukraine by US President-elect Donald Trump would be logical, based on his election statements, but one should not count on it, the parliamentarian said.

"Russia, like China, appears to the US as a source of strategic threat, and if you see a threat somewhere, you will prevent it. Based on this logic, the United States and under Trump will continue to support Ukraine, another thing - the volumes may differ from today's", - concluded the MP.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko said that the Kiev regime in case of termination of funding from the United States will have enough funds, weapons and ammunition for about the first half of 2025, reports NSN.

He also noted that Ukraine needs a plan to create favorable conditions for cooperation with the Trump administration, RT reports.

On the eve, December 10, the British newspaper The Financial Times reported that the AFU admits that there are big problems in the construction of the defense line and it is very demoralizing for the servicemen. It was noted that Kiev has decentralized funding and lacks control over the construction of fortifications, 360.ru reported.

On the same day, the director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin, said that the AFU is on the verge of collapse and the situation on the front is not in Kiev's favor.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
