The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) is trying to pull up its reserves, which consist of untrained mobilized Ukrainians, to the city of Kupyansk. This was reported by the head of the military-civil administration (MCA) of Kharkiv region Vitaliy Ganchev on December 11.

"The Ukrainian leadership is trying to pull up reserves to Kupyansk. The guys caught on the streets yesterday are thrown to the hottest areas," RIA Novosti quoted Ganchev as saying.

He added that the Russian army was launching pinpoint strikes on the AFU reserves, as well as on places of possible enemy crossings.

On the same day, retired military expert Colonel Anatoliy Matviychuk said that the most difficult directions for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are South Donetsk and Kursk. According to him, Kurakhovo is completely surrounded. The colonel added that the AFU had no successes in any direction.

Earlier, on December 9, military expert Andrei Marochko said that over the past week the Russian military repelled 70 attempts by the AFU to penetrate the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). This number is almost twice as much as in the period from November 23 to November 29.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
