Putin and Mirziyoyev exchange views on the situation in Syria and around Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Uzbek leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the Kremlin press service on December 11.

The report specifies that during the conversation the heads of state discussed issues of further development of Russian-Uzbek relations of strategic partnership, as well as alliance, emphasizing the implementation of agreements that were reached during Putin's visit to Uzbekistan in May.

"The leaders also exchanged views on the current situation in Syria and around Ukraine," the press service added.

Putin paid a state visit to Uzbekistan in May. During the talks, the Russian leader called the pace of development of economic ties between Russia and Uzbekistan impressive. He also pointed to the diversification and good prospects of trade and economic ties between the states, especially in the sphere of industrial cooperation and high technology.
