New MG HS crossover will start selling in Russia in early 2025

In early 2025, a new generation of the British-Chinese brand's MG HS mid-size crossover is scheduled to debut on the Russian market. This is stated in the message of the company "Mir-Distributor", which was received by "Izvestia" on December 11.

MG HS with front-wheel drive will be offered with two gasoline turbocharged engines: a 1.5-liter motor with 172 hp in the Comfort configuration and a two-liter with 231 hp in the Luxe version. Motors are combined with a 7-speed robotized transmission with two clutches or with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, by the end of this year in Russia will begin sales of two new MG models - a hybrid and an electric car. Information about the models promised to disclose later.

The company also said that at the end of 2024 began deliveries in Russia four new models: a liftback MG7 with a two-liter engine with an output of 261 hp (405 Nm), compact crossover MG RX5, as well as full-size crossovers MG RX8 and MG RX9 with a body length of almost five meters. The latter model has a three-row interior layout and an all-wheel drive system.

Several factors influence the price increase

On November 18, Mir-Distributor reported that sales of the updated MG ZS compact crossover started in Russia, and the model received the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) after passing all tests.
