State Duma speaks out on response to missile attack on Taganrog

Russia will use all possible means to respond to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) missile attack on Taganrog. This was stated by Alexei Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, on Wednesday, December 11.

"As we responded, so we will respond. We will destroy these drones [and missiles], we will liberate territories further, we will conduct combat operations. We are working on all fronts, believe me - and political, and the Ministry of Defense is successfully attacking on all fronts," the MP said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.

The parliamentarian believes that Ukraine is trying to impress its Western allies with such actions.

"They are in a state of agony. Their actions are attempts to influence their founders, their masters. <...> They are also attempts to influence NATO leaders, although they have also changed their approach to this conflict after the elections in America. But the Special Military Operation (SMO) continues," he concluded.

Earlier in the day, Yuri Slyusar, the acting governor of Rostov Region, said that an industrial plant was damaged and more than a dozen cars were burned as a result of a night attack by the AFU on the city of Taganrog, 360.ru reported. According to preliminary information, none of the people were injured as a result of the attack, Life.Ru writes.

He also said that the means of air defense (Air Defense Forces) destroyed one drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the sky above Kamensk, reports NSN.

Also on December 11, the governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, said that a fire broke out at a production building in Bryansk due to a Ukrainian drone, RT reports. He specified that the region was attacked by 10 AFU drones overnight.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
