Belarusian Foreign Ministry handed an official note to Polish Charge d'Affaires Krzysztof Ozhanna in connection with the attempt to recruit a Belarusian diplomat. This was reported by BelTA on December 11.
The day before, Minsk reported about the failed attempt of Polish security services to recruit a diplomat in Moldova. It was specified that an employee of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Moldova was offered €100 thousand if he would work for Warsaw.
"A number of domestic legislation is violated. A number of international rules are violated. The norms of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic and Consular Relations are directly violated," said Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatoli Glaz.
According to him, this incident can't remain without reactions. Glaz notes that the note to Poland may be followed by a number of other steps, on which the Belarusian side is thinking "most seriously."
Krzysztof Ozhanna was summoned to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. He said he would pass the conversation between the parties to Warsaw.
Earlier, December 2, Homel voblast court sentenced an agent of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with the pseudonym Mangust, who was supposed to transfer weapons and explosives to Belarus to organize terrorist attacks in the republic, to 10 years in prison.
His detention by the Belarusian law enforcement agencies became known in January this year. Deputy head of the investigation department of the State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus Konstantin Bychek said that Vyacheslav Borodi was recruited by the special services of Ukraine and trained in special training centers of the Ukrainian special services.
According to him, the Ukrainian, on the instructions of the Kiev regime, supplied explosive devices, firearms and reconnaissance drones to the territory of Belarus.
