Zakharova pointed to Zelensky's belief in his impunity because of the Biden family

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose powers expired on 20 May, was involved in corruption schemes of US President Joe Biden 's family and is now confident of his impunity and the possibility to get everything he wants from Washington. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said this on December 11, answering Izvestia's question.
"Zelensky hopes that he will be given money, will be given weapons, that he will not run out of magic powder and will get away with everything because he was involved in monstrous corruption deals with the Biden family," Zakharova said when asked what Zelensky hoped for when he publicly announced a plan to call Biden and discuss Ukraine's accession to NATO.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman urged not to forget about the Ukrainian president's painful ambition, which also fuels his hopes.
Zakharova recalled that Biden's corrupt plan to "pump" money from the West through Ukraine and return it to the people who allocated the funds was monstrous in its scale and illegality. Russia has drawn attention to a large number of facts proving the existence of this scheme, and now information about it has begun to surface in the West itself, and Joe Biden's pardon of his son Hunter speaks for itself.
Zelensky, as the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman noted, has all the necessary information and documents on the case, and mistakenly believes that this will guarantee his impunity.
Earlier in the day, US presidential election winner Donald Trump mocked the Bidens' corruption plan in Ukraine with a meme. In the image, the incumbent American president stands at a board on which five stages of the scheme are listed: first, American citizens pay taxes, then Joe Biden's administration sends them to Ukraine, the latter sends the money to Hunter Biden, and he passes it to his father. At the end of the scheme, the president decides to pardon the son.
Before that, in August, the TV channel ABC News with reference to court documents of the US Attorney's Office reported that in 2009-2017, when Joe Biden was still Vice-President of the United States, his son Hunter received millions of dollars from a businessman from Romania Gabriel Popovici to influence the government of the country.
Special prosecutor David Weiss, who led the team of investigators, found that the son of a sitting U.S. president had income from foreign firms for which he acted as a lawyer, lobbyist and consultant.
In the same month, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives issued a report saying that Joe Biden abused his office and "defrauded the country to enrich his family."
