In the UK, 20-year-old forensics student Nasen Saadi killed 34-year-old Amy Gray and wounded 38-year-old Lynn Miles for an experiment to understand the psychology of killers. This was reported by the Daily Mail on December 9.

According to the prosecutor's office, Saadi, while studying to become a forensic scientist at the university, asked his teachers a large number of questions regarding how to get away with murder. In this regard, one of the educators asked him if he was planning a murder.

In addition, the publication specifies that Saadi searched the Internet for information about knives, busy beaches and other questions related to murder. In May, he booked a hotel room in Bournemouth, after which he attacked his victims on one of the beaches. Gray died at the scene from her injuries and Miles was hospitalized with 20 stab wounds in a serious condition, the publication reported.

"The tape of the attack was shown and he simply stated, 'It wasn't me.' He said he had no reason to attack anyone and he wouldn't attack someone for no reason," the publication quoted prosecutors as saying.

According to the investigation, Saadi wanted to learn by experience what it is like to take a life.

Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that in Southern California, USA, arrested a 70-year-old man who committed a murder 41 years ago. Michael Larry Manatt of Huntington Beach was arrested in connection with the murder of Ronald Gaskey, who was killed in his home in Newport Beach on December 13, 1983.

The publication specified that law enforcement officials had to freeze the criminal case at the time because detectives were unable to charge the suspect. The case was reopened several years ago, but police did not specify exactly how they were able to identify Manatt as a suspect. The man was jailed on $1 million bail.
