- Reuters has learned what Zelensky demanded at a meeting with Trump and Macron in Paris

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, asked for security guarantees for the country in any outcome of the conflict at a meeting with US leader-elect Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on December 7. About this on December 11 writes Reuters.
"President Vladimir Zelensky used his first meeting with Donald Trump since the US election to explain the need for Ukraine's security guarantees in any negotiated end to the <conflict> with Russia," the material said.
According to the four sources, the leaders did not discuss any details of the issue of ending the Ukrainian conflict for 35 minutes.
"During the meeting, some key points were voiced. For example, it was said that guarantees are needed, as a ceasefire alone is not enough," the Ukrainian president's office told Reuters.
According to the agency's sources, the current US leader was in listening mode during the meeting, while the French president was "on the same page" as Zelensky, but they tried not to give the impression that they were "cornering Trump."
Macron also used the talks with the US president-elect to demonstrate the European Union's contribution to helping Kiev and to express readiness to share Washington's commitment to the issue, the agency's interlocutors said.
The trilateral meeting took place after the opening ceremony of the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris in Paris. Bloomberg reported on December 7 that it lasted about 20 minutes, without a final statement. The New York Times, in turn, wrote that the talks demonstrated Kiev's willingness to make concessions. After the meeting, the President-elect of the United States said that Zelensky would like to "make a deal" with Russia.
Before that, on December 4, it became known that Trump's team has three plans to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. They include a plan from US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg, another from Trump's vice-president-elect JD Vance, and the third was put forward by Richard Grenell, Trump's former acting intelligence chief.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, back in June at a meeting with the Russian Foreign Ministry leadership, named the conditions for negotiations on Ukraine. Thus, the Ukrainian army must leave the territories of the new regions of the Russian Federation and Kiev needs to abandon the idea of integration into NATO.
The last round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
