Foreign Ministry says inviolability of Russian facilities in Syria is a priority

The inviolability of Russian facilities, including military and diplomatic ones, is an unconditional priority in Syria. This was announced by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova on December 11.
"An unconditional priority for us is the inviolability of Russian facilities and representations - diplomatic, military and others, including those related to the activities of domestic companies and organizations," Zakharova said at a briefing.
Zakharova also emphasized solidarity with the Syrian people and spoke in favor of establishing an inclusive political process in Syria as soon as possible.
She added that Russia will abide by the norms of international law with regard to its facilities to protect its interests.
On December 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, after negotiations with the opposition, decided to leave the post of head of state and leave the country, instructing to carry out the transfer of power peacefully. It was later confirmed that Assad and his family had arrived in Moscow.
On the same day, the national coalition of revolutionary and opposition forces of Syria announced the work on the formation of a transitional authority. In turn, SAR Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi al-Jalali said that most Syrian government officials remain in Damascus, and he himself is ready to cooperate with any elected leadership.
The situation in Syria has escalated as a result of a major attack by armed formations in Aleppo and Idlib, which began on November 28 and led to the Syrian army's retaliation against the militants.
