A resident of Ussuriysk lost 7 million rubles because of false brokers

A criminal case has been opened in Ussuriysk over a fraud case involving a 58-year-old woman. She lost 7 million roubles in an attempt to obtain additional income.

According to the victim, she received an offer to try her hand at investing on the stock exchange. Under the guidance of the interlocutor, the woman installed an application on her phone and began to deposit funds. Within a month, she thought she was making transactions. The application displayed that her income allegedly amounted to $23 thousand, as reported by IA UssurMedia.

Communicating with false brokers, the woman made loans and took funds from relatives and acquaintances. In the end, she turned to the police.

A criminal case was initiated under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").

In Yekaterinburg, a 76-year-old woman became a victim of fraudsters. She sold an apartment and handed over 6 million rubles with a courier.
