Russian Armed Forces hit Ukrainian Defense and National Guard brigades in DNR over 24 hours

The Russian Armed Forces (AF) have defeated the formations of two territorial defense brigades and a brigade of the Ukrainian army's National Guard in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 11.

"The units of the East group of troops improved the position along the front line, defeated the formations of two territorial defense brigades and a brigade of the National Guard in the areas of the settlements of Velikaya Novoselka, Konstantinopol, Vremivka and Storozhevoye of the Donetsk People's Republic," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

In addition, the Eastern grouping of troops repelled three counterattacks by enemy assault groups.

The losses of the Ukrainian army amounted to up to 150 military, American combat vehicles HMMWV and MaxxPro, three vehicles, 155-millimeter self-propelled artillery unit (SAU) "Bogdana", two 152-mm SAU "Akatsia" and 122-millimeter artillery unit "Gvozdika".

Air defense means (air defense) shot down four shells of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), as well as another 32 drones.

Earlier in the day, the Defense Ministry reported that servicemen of the motorized rifle unit of the Russian grouping of troops "Center" with the calculation of D-30 howitzers eliminated a stronghold of the AFU in the Krasnoarmeysk direction.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
