Reuters has revealed details of Macron and Zelensky's conversation with Trump

French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy (his term expired on May 20) during a meeting in Paris with US President-elect Donald Trump told him about the changes in the policy of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Reuters on December 11, citing its sources.
"One of the sources said Macron and Zelensky explained to Trump that Putin in 2024 is not the same as he was in 2017, when the US president-elect had previously dealt with the Russian leader while in the White House," the article stated.
As another source noted, Trump himself was friendly at the meeting, showing his qualities for "establishing a personal rapport," a sign of intent to pursue diplomacy on his part.
Reuters also reported that Trump told Zelensky and Macron during the Paris meeting that he wanted a ceasefire in Ukraine and negotiations. No specific details of a vision for peace were discussed, according to sources with knowledge of the meeting. A day earlier, Bloomberg news agency said that during talks with Trump in Paris, Zelensky demanded security guarantees, in particular Ukraine's invitation to NATO.
Political scientist Alexander Dudchak shared with Izvestia the opinion that Zelensky and the West do not want a full-fledged peace settlement. At the same time, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that Moscow is always open for negotiations on Ukraine, the Kiev regime and the Western countries that run it are closed.
For his part, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov reminded on December 8 that President Putin had repeatedly said that Russia was open for talks on Ukraine and welcomed proposals from China, India, Brazil and other countries.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
