Ilon Musk outraged over big US spending on Ukraine

US businessman Ilon Musk has expressed indignation at the amount of money that the USA allocates to Ukraine. He wrote about it on December 11 in the social network X (former Twitter).

"How much have we sent them already? This is already beyond insanity," Gazeta.Ru quoted his post as saying .

On December 10 , Washington allocated $20 billion to Kiev, to be repaid from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. US Treasury Chief Janet Yellen said the funds would provide Ukraine with critical support.

Back in August, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the ongoing illegal expropriation of Russia's funds in the EU was essentially theft and warned the EU that the allocation of €1.4 billion to Kiev from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets was illegal and would have consequences.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
