"Rostelecom completed the creation of communications infrastructure in new regions of Russia

"Rostelecom has completed the creation of communication infrastructure in the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, as well as in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions. This was announced by the company's president Mikhail Oseevsky during the government hour in the Federation Council on December 11.

"Rostelecom has completed the fulfillment of the president's instruction and the government directive issued in its development on the creation of communication infrastructure in the new territories," TASS quoted him as saying.

Oseevsky specified that the investments amounted to over 25 billion rubles. As a result, 5.3 thousand base stations were built in four regions. According to the data as of December 11, more than 600 thousand subscribers from new regions of the country use the connection.

According to the president of Rostelecom, the company has connected more than 7 thousand state authorities, as well as schools and medical institutions to communication networks. He noted that this creates a good opportunity to use digital solutions, which are spread throughout the state.

Earlier, on November 28, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the government will allocate more than 3.5 billion rubles in additional funds to new Russian regions to maintain energy infrastructure.

Prior to that, on November 25, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said that the agrarians of Donbass and Novorossiya were receiving all the necessary support measures in a systematic manner. He spoke about the state program "Integrated development of rural areas", under which 2 billion rubles will be allocated annually from 2025 to create favorable living conditions in rural areas in the new regions.
