FAW considers assembling passenger cars in Russia

The Chinese concern FAW is considering the option of local assembly of cars on the Russian market. Representatives of the car company informed the Izvestia correspondent about it during the presentation of two new models of the Bestune brand in Russia.
"FAW plant in China has all the necessary resources and capacities to fully meet the demands of the Russian audience. Nevertheless, the Bestune brand is closely monitoring the market situation and is certainly considering a possible option of local assembly in Russia in the future," representatives of the brand told Izvestia.
Next year, the company is considering the possibility of launching two new models on the Russian market. The company also plans to update the B70 liftback and T90 crossover, which were presented in Russia on December 10.
Now the main priority for the company is the sale of cars with internal combustion engines, but FAW is studying the possibility of launching electrified models on the Russian market, the manufacturer said.
The day before it was reported that the new seven-seat flagship crossover Chery Tiggo 9 will be offered in Russia in two configurations, sales will start on December 17. For customers who have made a reservation, the price of the car will be 4.19 million rubles.
