AvtoVAZ will equip Lada Niva with a new engine

In 2025, the Lada Niva family will get a new motor. A representative of AvtoVAZ told Izvestia on December 11.

The power unit is an existing 1.8-liter motor, but with an eight-valve block head. According to Izvestia, it will develop 90 hp and about 120 Nm of torque. The first motor will get Niva Travel, then - the classic Legend.

In addition, AvtoVAZ will modernize the existing motors: 16-valve 1.6 will develop 122 hp, and 16-valve motor 1.8 - 135 hp. When exactly this will happen is not yet known.

November 26, it became known that AvtoVAZ resumed production of Lada Niva Travel cars with airbags and emergency call system "ERA-GLONASS". Also SUVs were equipped with new steering wheels.
