A court in Moscow has sentenced Yakov Keselman, a citizen of Israel and Ukraine, accused of spreading false information through a call-center about the preparation of terrorist attacks on Russian infrastructure facilities, to six years in prison. This was reported by his lawyer Alexei Kurganov on Wednesday, December 11.

"Lefortovo court of the capital sentenced my client on two episodes of this crime to eight years, later the Moscow City Court agreed that it is not two episodes, but one lasting, and reduced the punishment to six years of general regime colony," - quotes his words "RIA Novosti".

Kurganov noted that the call-center where his client worked was under the control of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Keselman was forced to deal with reports of mines under the threat of reprisals against relatives, the lawyer added.

Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that the FSB detained the managers and employees of the Russian branch of the international network of call centers, who under the guise of investment transactions were engaged in fraud against citizens of the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, India, Japan. It was specified that the group deceived about 100 thousand people in more than 50 countries of the world. Its income per day amounted to about $1 million.

The FSB also identified the heads of call centers in Russia, who in 2022 disseminated false information about the preparation of terrorist attacks on the infrastructure of Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk.
