Russian anti-aircraft gunners destroyed AFU drones in the Serebryansky forestry area

The 169th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 25th Combined Arms Army of the "West" group of forces continues to eliminate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak spoke to the crew of the Strela-10 SAM system on December 11 and found out how the fighters defend themselves from enemy attacks.
"The anti-aircraft gunners have repeatedly had to hide from the enemy, to evade air attacks. Here, too, there are peculiar precautions, and when this design, these missiles are turned around to work on the target, they are cocked into a combat position, the chain is lowered - the "brazier" is moved away," Fedorchak showed.
While electronic warfare (REB) systems used to be enough, now all security measures are taken to protect soldiers and combat vehicles, starting from camouflage and ending with small arms, which can also perfectly cope with AFU drones.
"Earlier they used to extinguish drones with the help of REB, slow them down, but now, it happens, they don't slow them down at all. They just fly by <...> Arrow is the best counter-drone weapon. You shoot it and forget about it. If the missile has taken the target, it will follow it," said the commander of the Strela SAM system with the call sign Amur.
The mechanic-driver with the call sign Ded noted that the Strela is similar to a tractor in control.
"If I've already started it, I have to finish it. And I was brought up this way, in the old traditions," Ded emphasized.
Together with his coworkers, he is doing everything possible to bring Russia closer to victory.
Earlier, on November 14, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Strela-10 SAM system of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Division of the Dnepr Group of Forces eliminated more than 30 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during a month while performing a combat mission to cover the actions of the ground group in the Zaporozhye direction of the Northern Military District.
Prior to that, on November 12, the Defense Ministry reported that the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) of the Zapad group of troops destroyed AFU drones in the area of air defense. A mobile firing group always accompanies the unit on combat duty. The task of the fighters is to closely monitor the sky above the complex.
