Forecasters told of the continued threat of wildfires in California through Wednesday

Forecasters predict that by Thursday, rising humidity and a breeze from the Pacific Ocean inland will reduce the risk of more wildfires in the Malibu, Calif. area. This was reported by The New York Times on December 10.

Earlier in the week, forecasters warned of a "particularly dangerous situation" for the spread of wildfires due to high winds. These conditions helped the Franklin Fire grow quickly.

Those winds are forecast to subside by Wednesday evening, but the risk of wildfires will remain high due to low humidity.

On the same day, a 900-hectare wildfire broke out in Malibu. Due to the fire risk, a red level warning has been put in place in some areas. Fire departments are fighting the fire, and the authorities announced evacuation for at least 18 thousand people and 8.1 thousand houses.
