In Russia, work has begun on a super-power industrial engine

UDK-Kuznetsov is designing a new heavy-duty gas turbine engine for gas transportation and power generation in the oil and gas industry and electric power industry. This was reported in an interview with Izvestia by Pavel Chupin, general designer of the enterprise.
"We have developed and started manufacturing a prototype of a 32 MW industrial unit. It is designed to be used as a drive for operation as part of gas transportation equipment in main pipelines and gas liquefaction," the head said.
He added that so far in Russia the production of such engines has been limited to 25 MW. In the future, the possibility of increasing the unit capacity of produced engines up to 40-50 MW is being considered. Such equipment will be produced for import substitution of foreign equipment.
