Trump nominated Andrew Ferguson to head the Federal Trade Commission

American President-elect Donald Trump proposed the candidacy of Andrew Ferguson for the post of head of the Federal Trade Commission of the United States. He announced this on December 10 on his page in the social network Truth Social.

"I am pleased to announce the nomination of Andrew Ferguson to be the next Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission. Andrew has a track record of standing up to censorship by big tech companies and defending free speech in our great country," Trump wrote.

Ferguson could take over as chairman immediately after Trump's inauguration, as he is already a member of the trade commission, Politico reported.

Earlier on Dec. 9, the U.S . president-elect said former U.S. ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau could get the position of first deputy secretary of state. Trump added that Landau, as U.S. ambassador to Mexico, worked to reduce illegal migration, bringing it down to the lowest level in history.

Earlier in the day, Trump announced that he would appoint Michael Anton to head the State Department's political planning division. It is noted that in the first presidential term of Trump, he was actually the President's advisor on strategic communications.

Before that, on December 6, it became known that Trump appointed an investor, former Director of the financial company PayPal David Sachs responsible for the policy of the US administration in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies. The president-elect noted that Sachs will focus on ensuring US leadership in both areas.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
