Lukashevich doubted the OSCE's ability to resolve the Ukrainian crisis

After the failure of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission to Ukraine in 2015, the organization can no longer claim the right to take steps to resolve the crisis. This opinion was expressed by the Russian Federation's Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Alexander Lukashevich, in a conversation with Izvestia.
"I saw how the OSCE shamefully failed in Ukraine in 2015 and how it failed to prevent the conflict development of the situation on this territory. <...> The OSCE has no right to work in the context of further steps to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, it is incapable, it is an instrument of the Western community, which does not accept peaceful methods of dispute resolution," Lukashevich said.
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine began its work on March 21, 2014 and will cease operations on March 31, 2022.
