MEPs will discuss the Syrian crisis at the next meeting in Strasbourg

The situation in Syria is likely to be one of the topics of discussion at the plenary session of the European Parliament, which will begin on December 16, French MP Thierry Mariani told Izvestia.

As the government changes hands, violent clashes between pro-Turkish militias and Kurds have erupted across the country

"An emergency debate is likely to take place. On the first day of the plenary session of the European Parliament, there is always a possibility to put an emergency debate on the agenda. Syria, Georgia and Romania are not on the agenda right now. And I think that these three topics will be discussed urgently," he added.

He called Europeans who think that a new Syrian crisis will not cause an influx of Islamists into Europe naive.
