Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell collapsed after a caucus meeting

Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell collapsed after a meeting on Dec. 10, The Hill reports.
McConnell was spotted walking to his office in the Capitol, accompanied by a medical team and Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso, who was hosting the meeting.
"He's fine. He's in his office," commented on the condition of the 82-year-old McConnell, South Dakota Senator John Thune, who held a leadership press conference in McConnell's absence.
Earlier, on November 12, the leader of the Republican minority in the Senate Mitch McConnell nominated candidates for the post of the head of the wing of the Republican Party in the upper house of Congress, which included opponents of US President-elect Donald Trump.
John Thune and Senator John Cornyn from the state of Texas will fight for the post of the leader of the Republicans - it is these politicians are considered to be McConnell's proteges. The third candidate will be Senator from Florida Rick Scott, who is supported by Trump supporters, including billionaire Ilon Musk and conservative journalist Tucker Carlson.
Donald Trump is actively getting rid of "hawks" in his administration and inner circle. On November 11, The Hill reported that Trump is not going to take former Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo into the new administration.
