The decision to appoint Anna Tsivileva to the post of Deputy Defense Minister of the Russian Federation was not made immediately, as her work in the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation is extremely important. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) held on Tuesday, December 10.

"To be honest, I did not even immediately agree with Defense Minister [Andrei Belousov]'s proposal to make Anna Evgenievna Tsivileva deputy defense minister, because I believed that she should focus her attention exactly on the work of the fund, on providing support to our guys who come out of the line of contact and their family members," the Russian leader noted.

However, he emphasized that in the end, the new appointment did not harm the work of the fund. On the contrary, according to Putin, it has become more "focused."

The Russian President signed a decree appointing Tsivileva as State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia on August 17.

Earlier, on November 5, it became known that Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at a meeting with Tsivileva on social support for special operation participants instructed to develop regulations for a balanced approach to payments to wounded servicemen. The minister called this a very important area.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
