Canada adds nine Russians to sanctions lists


Canada has expanded the list of sub-sanctioned persons, adding 9 Russian citizens to it. This was stated in a document published on the website of the country's government on 10 December.
The reason was allegedly "human rights violations" on the territory of Ukraine. "Gazeta.Ru" specifies that in total the Canadian authorities imposed sanctions against 432 citizens of Russia.
Earlier, on November 22, it became known that Canada has conducted more than 70 rounds of sanctions against Russia. In the black lists of more than 700 companies and structures, under personal restrictions - almost 2 thousand people.
Western countries have increased sanctions pressure on Russia after the start of special operations to protect the peaceful population of Donbass, which was announced on February 24, 2022.
