Marketplaces will suspend the sale of aroma inhalers popular with children

Wildberries will withdraw aroma inhalers popular among children from sale within 24 hours. This was reported to Izvestia on December 10 by the press service of the marketplace.

They also assured that they strictly comply with the requirements of the current legislation of the Russian Federation, the seller's offer contains a list of goods prohibited for sale.

"By accepting the offer, marketplace sellers confirm the provision of reliable information about the product, its properties and methods of use, as well as full compliance of goods with all the norms of the legislation of the Russian Federation and the rules of the site. Wildberries regularly monitors the showcase of the marketplace for the presence of prohibited goods on the site and in case of their detection immediately blocks such cards, not allowing them to be sold on the platform," - said in Wildberries.

The company intends to block the sale of aroma-inhalers on the platform and remove such goods from the showcase within a day.

According to RBC, the same decision was made in the second largest Russian marketplace, Ozon. They noted that the safety and health of customers is a priority for the company. It is specified that the sale of these goods was suspended, and most of the cards are hidden from the showcase.

According to Duma deputy Dmitry Gusev, it is unknown what is inside the aroma-inhalers.

"What's inside there we don't know. And children who try it, tell that they get the effect as if they were drugs. <...> I appealed to Rospotrebnadzor so that they could figure out what kind of aroma-inhaler it is," he told Izvestia.

Gusev also noted that he appealed to all Internet trading companies to remove them from sale.

Earlier in the day, doctors from Invitro and Invitro North-West told Izvestia that essential oils can have a significant effect on the body, so it is extremely important to realize that not every combination of them is beneficial.

According to experts, the key aspect is the concentration of the aroma-inhaler and the duration of its use by the child. Even a harmless substance with frequent and uncontrolled use can cause very serious problems, such as chemical damage to the mucous membranes. Also, many cases of pronounced dizziness and feelings of nausea have already been recorded.

These symptoms occur due to the negative effects of the vapors of the mixture on the liver and gallbladder. It is necessary to understand what oils are contained in the solution of the inhaler, in what proportions, whether they are compatible with each other and how they affect the body, especially on children.
