In the Pskov region, 29 classes in 21 educational institutions were closed for quarantine due to a spike in the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor on Tuesday, December 10.
The educational process was completely suspended in Krupskaya basic comprehensive school in Pechora municipal district. Also, five groups of five preschool institutions were disbanded to their homes.
From December 2 to 8, 4274 cases of acute respiratory viral infections were detected in the region. Among the sick - 61% of children under 14 years old. The structure of circulating viruses is dominated by respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology.
According to the Pskov newswire, the influenza immunization campaign is coming to an end. By December 6, more than 274.8 thousand people were vaccinated in the region, which is 47.29% of the population coverage.
Earlier "Izvestia" wrote that this year ARVI is spreading later than usual. An outburst of morbidity is expected twice - at the end of December and in the second half of January.
