Ready-made meals, frozen pizza, sodas and bread can contribute to faster aging because they contain an excessive amount of carbohydrates. This opinion was expressed by Valery Novoselov, a geriatrician, gerontologist, chairman of the section of gerontology of the MOIP at Moscow State University, on Tuesday, December 10.

"It is clear that carbonated drinks are an excessive amount of carbohydrates, i.e. sugar. Accordingly, they definitely cannot be attributed to healthy drinking or healthy food. Besides, they are short carbohydrates, which are quickly digested, and won't do anyone any good. If we talk about pizza and fast food, it is a cheaper meal, and there goes the saving on healthy products," - said the expert in conversation with "Radio 1".

According to the expert, in order not to age, you need to eat a more balanced diet.

He added that if you do not move and constantly overeat, the aging process will happen much faster.

"We will have age-related diseases more quickly and, accordingly, the risk of losing this life is much higher than in a person who leads a healthy lifestyle," the specialist concluded.

On the same day, Alfred Bogdanov, professor of the Department of Departmental Therapy at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, in a conversation with Pravda.Ru compared the Scandinavian diet, which is recognized by endocrinologists as the most useful, with the Mediterranean diet.

According to the expert, these two diets are very similar. In both of them it is supposed to consume a large amount of dietary fiber contained in fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grain products, which are the basis of the carbohydrate diet. In addition, both diets include plenty of seafood.

On December 5, SM-Clinica nutritionist Elena Ustinova named foods with a high sugar content, which people who follow the diet, often do not take into account. These are primarily pasta and cereals, RT reports.

On November 28, endocrinologist Raisa Dementieva told the website kp.ru about the consequences of giving up carbohydrates. The expert noted that such a method of weight loss will not give positive results. According to her, the human body critically needs carbohydrates, because they give energy, reports 360.ru.

Earlier, on November 15, urologist andrologist of the reproductive health center "SM-Clinica" Artur Bogatyrev told "Izvestia" that people with kidney disease should avoid products containing large amounts of oxalates, such as spinach, nuts, French fries, chips, beets, sorrel, bran and chocolate. They may also be better off limiting their intake of foods high in potassium, particularly avocados.

On November 11, Irina Perminova, a gastroenterologist at the Mytishchi Regional Clinical Hospital, told the Moscow City News Agency that persimmons contain a large amount of antioxidants and potassium, which are useful for maintaining a healthy nervous system and youth.
