Russian ambassador says relations with Sweden are low

Relations between Russia and Sweden are at a very low level. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Sweden Sergey Belyaev in an interview with Sveriges Radio on December 10.
"Today our relations are really at a very low level. The main thing is that we still have relations, Russia and Sweden have a very long history of relations, which goes back to the distant past," he noted.
Belyaev emphasized that not only political relations, but also contacts in the field of culture and youth cooperation were suspended on the initiative of the Swedish side.
On November 8, Sweden announced its readiness to raise duties on goods from Russia. The document emphasized the importance of increasing economic pressure on Moscow and also pointed out the significance of providing more active support to Kiev.
