Putin: HRC provides assistance to the participants of the SWO and their families

The Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (CDHR) has been largely active in providing assistance to the participants of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 10.

"I note your active assistance to the participants of the SWO and their families. <...> Council members help residents of the territories under enemy fire, do a lot to provide our heroes on the front lines, including products of the so-called people's defense industry complex (Defense Industrial Complex. - Ed.)," he said at the HRC meeting.

The head of state noted the importance of close work of the HRC with the Public Chamber, volunteer organizations and the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. In addition, Putin noted that members of the Council regularly visit "our historic territories of Donbass and Novorossiya," thanks to which they know about the needs of the country's citizens.

The President emphasized the importance of the HRC's work on fixing violations of the rights of civilians by the Kiev regime, as well as the war crimes it commits. He added that the Council continues to inform the international community about it.

The day before, Putin signed a decree on payments for combatants in the special operation zone. According to the documents, disability payments in the amount of 4 million rubles will be received by volunteers who carry out activities on the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR).

In his congratulatory message to the HRC on its 20th anniversary on November 6, the head of state noted that control over the observance of the rights of special operation participants and their families is the most important area of the structure's activities.

The special operation to protect Donbas, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
