The doctor told about contraindications for visiting a bathhouse

Bath is an effective physiotherapeutic practice that can have a favorable effect on the body. Denis Bannyi, an expert physician at Hemotest Laboratory, told Izvestia on December 11 about contraindications to steaming in a bathhouse.
"Among [contraindications] - acute period of illness, exacerbation of chronic pathologies, gallstone and urolithiasis (heat can provoke displacement of stones), any type of cancer (under strict prohibition not only baths, but also any other heat procedures), as well as arterial hypertension," - notes Banny.
According to him, with caution can be steamed with people with varicose veins. Because of the heat increases blood flow to the legs, and this can lead to the progression of varicose veins. In addition, skin diseases, injuries or wounds on the skin - another reason to damage the bath.
As the doctor notes, other contraindications include the first and third trimesters of pregnancy, epilepsy (a sudden change in temperature can cause an epileptic seizure), insufficient cardiac, renal or hepatic function, as well as infectious diseases.
"In order to make the procedure of steaming as comfortable and safe as possible, you should adhere to the rules. Do not visit the bath on a full or, conversely, an empty stomach, after alcoholic libations. <...> In between approaches should drink more fluid: herbal tea, homemade compote or mors, "- summarized Banny.
Earlier, on November 25, Alexander Umnov, a lecturer at the Department of Fundamental Medical Disciplines of the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, told Izvestia about the benefits of the Russian bath. According to him, due to the evaporation of water at high temperature, bathing procedures strengthen the vascular system and help reduce inflammation in the lung tissue.
