- The head of the HRC suggested introducing an integral assessment of the knowledge of school graduates

It is necessary to introduce an integral assessment of graduates' knowledge in schools. This was stated by the head of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) Valery Fadeev on December 10.
"We need some kind of integral assessment of the knowledge of school graduates. For example, an average grade, as it was in the Soviet Union," he said at a meeting of the HRC with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding that in this way it would be possible to give an average grade to a student for a quarter or a half-year.
Fadeyev also noted that the average grade could be taken into account when entering a university along with the results of the Unified State Examination (USE).
"In fact, it will be the fourth grade. Three exams plus the average score. For the three [disciplines] that I named: history, literature, geography, or some other circle," he said, noting that this topic requires serious and professional discussion.
In response, the Russian leader supported the idea and offered to work it out with the government accordingly.
Earlier, on December 5, it became known that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation approved a new procedure for admission to universities. The corresponding document was published on the site of official publication of legal acts. The order comes into force from March 1, 2025 and is valid until September 1, 2029.
