- The State Duma linked Poland's reluctance to send soldiers to Ukraine with the successes of the Russian Armed Forces

Poland soberly assesses the success of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) on the front line and understands the necessity of refusing to send soldiers to Ukraine. This was stated by Russian State Duma deputy Maxim Ivanov on 10 December.
Earlier in the day, the head of Poland's National Security Bureau, Jacek Severa, emphasized that Warsaw needed to rule out the appearance of its troops on the territory of Ukraine. The country's Defense Minister Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysh, in turn, reported a serious deterioration of the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the front.
"I think that Poland is not scared, it just soberly assesses the situation that is developing on the front. Plus our recent demonstration of modern weapons, in particular, [the] Oreshnik [system], shows that the escalation of the conflict may lead to Russia's use of the latest weapons," Duma TV' s Izvestia cited Ivanov's commentary for Izvestia.
Thus, he emphasized, the countries of Europe are forced to assess the situation and save their population, some of whom are already fighting in the ranks of the AFU.
Earlier in the day, Sergei Naryshkin, director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, said that the AFU is on the verge of collapse, and the situation on the front is not in Kiev's favor. He pointed out that the strategic initiative in all areas belongs to the Russian army, which is close to achieving its goals.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
