Putin urged to reduce bureaucratic burden on teachers

It is necessary to reduce the bureaucratic burden on teachers in Russia. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights on December 10.

"A teacher should have as much time as possible for that meaningful training, education, to which he is called. And for this it is necessary to reduce the bureaucratic part of his work," the Russian leader said.

Putin noted that recently, questions have often been raised regarding the overloading of teachers and doctors with various reports and documents. In addition, the head of state called it a common task to ensure uniform high standards of education quality in Russia. He also expressed hope that visible results would be achieved in this area.

Earlier, November 19, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin said that among the main tasks of the Russian Federation remain improving the quality of education and reducing the burden on teachers. According to him, the bureaucratic load of teachers, as well as their shortage in a number of regions are serious problems. At the same time, the Prime Minister recalled the decisions already taken to improve this sphere.

Before that, on November 16, the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science reported that the USE may be transferred to a 100-point evaluation system, as well as to use the results of the exam for selection to profile classes in the 10th year of education. Currently, the USE continues to use grades from "two" to "five". The timing of the transition to the new system has not yet been determined.

In October, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said that from 2026 the entrance to pedagogical specialties will be through passing the Unified State Exam in a specialized subject. At the same time, no significant changes in the system of admission to higher education institutions are planned in 2025.
