Zurabishvili reported the appearance of a train-decoration in front of her palace

A cardboard installation of a train appeared in front of the presidential palace in Tbilisi a few days before the presidential election. This was announced on December 10 by the incumbent head of state Salome Zurabishvili, wondering who will travel on it.
"I was put a train in front of Orbeliani Palace. Well, let's see who [on it ] will ride," the Georgian leader wrote on her Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta, an organization recognized as extremist in Russia).
The train in question is presumably a New Year's decoration set up by the city authorities, Interpressnews noted.
Before that, on December 9, the Georgian capital's mayor's office began installing a large New Year's tree near the parliament, the place where the opposition gathers for rallies. The base of the fir tree occupies almost the entire area where protesters used to gather. On the same day, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the Georgian parliament had passed a law banning the covering of faces at rallies with masks and other elements of clothing. According to him, this is a method of combating acts of violence during protests.
Earlier, on December 3, the Constitutional Court of Georgia did not accept the lawsuit of President Zurabishvili demanding to recognize the violation of the principles of universal and secret voting on October 26 at the parliamentary elections in the country. It was specified that the decision is final and is not subject to appeal or review.
Before that, on November 30, Zurabishvili said that she would not give up her powers. In her opinion, the parliament of the new convocation is illegitimate, so her powers will continue after the end of her mandate. In response, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze warned that she would have to leave office by law on December 29.
