Georgia's SGB points to involvement of foreign special services in the rallies

Anti-government rallies in Tbilisi are held in coordination with foreign special services. This was reported by the Georgian State Security Service (GSS) on December 10.
"Realization of the mentioned processes (protests. - Ed.) is ensured by local subjects under coordination of special services of foreign countries," NewsGeorgia quoted the agency as saying.
According to the agency, the plan is being worked out according to the scenarios that are typical for "color revolutions", include various rituals and destruction and subsequently end with the killing of civilians in order to escalate.
As confirmation of this fact, the SGB calls the damage to surveillance cameras by destructive groups of masked individuals in the protest zone and in the neighboring territories. The agency does not explain why the police "did not come to the rescue and did not detain anyone.
The day before, Deputy Interior Minister of Georgia Alexander Darakhvelidze said that more than 400 people were detained during the protests in Tbilisi. According to him, more than 30 people were brought to criminal responsibility, administrative proceedings were initiated against 372 people, 62 of whom were imprisoned and more than 100 were fined.
On December 2, Georgian security forces were forced to use tear gas to disperse demonstrators in the center of Tbilisi. On November 30, protesters attempted to set fire to the Georgian parliament building and damaged dozens of offices.
Amid these events, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili refused to step down when her term expires at the end of December. In response, Kobakhidze warned that she would be required by law to leave office.
Before that, on November 28, the ruling Georgian Dream party decided to suspend until 2028 discussions with the EU on opening accession talks.
