There were 251 traffic accidents in Russia over the past day

Over the past day, 251 traffic accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 21 people were killed and 303 injured. Three of the dead were pedestrians, the other 18 - drivers and passengers. This was reported to "Izvestia" on Tuesday, December 10, in the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 96 traffic accidents involving pedestrians, three people were killed, another 95 were injured of varying severity. Among the victims are 16 child pedestrians, 11 of whom were injured at crosswalks. Of the total number of accidents with pedestrians, 53 occurred at crosswalks and 43 - outside their zone of action.

There were 15 accidents involving buses, in which one person was killed and 21 others required medical assistance. The cause of eight accidents involving buses was the violation of traffic rules by drivers of other vehicles.

Thus, in the Novosibirsk region on a regional highway, the driver of a truck at a turn in a prohibited place from the right curb did not give the advantage in traffic and collided with a bus traveling in the opposite direction, carrying 43 passengers, after which the bus went off the road and overturned. As a result of the accident, five passengers of the bus were hospitalized with injuries, two other passengers were injured and sent for outpatient treatment after medical care.

With the participation of minors 27 accidents were registered, as a result of which 31 young road users were injured, including 15 passengers. One child died.

Thus, at night in the town of Tuimazy, Republic of Bashkortostan, a 13-year-old driver without a driver's license, driving a car stolen in a neighboring town, did not comply with the lawful request of a police officer to stop and, trying to escape, when turning left, drove off the road, after which the car overturned. The perpetrator of the accident died, two of his passengers, including a 15-year-old teenager, were hospitalized with injuries. At the time of the accident, the injured young passenger was in the back seat and was not wearing a seat belt. It turned out that the day before the boys had escaped from a boarding school located in the same city, from where the car they were traveling in was stolen.

In Kirov region on 581 km of federal highway R-243 (Kostroma - Sharya - Kirov - Perm) in snowfall conditions the driver of a truck drove in a prohibited place on the oncoming lane, where he collided with another truck. The driver of the second truck died in the accident, and the perpetrator of the accident was hospitalized. In addition, because of the accident, traffic on this section of the road was temporarily stopped for several hours

"We draw the attention of motorists that in conditions of snowfall, blizzard, strong wind, ice and limited visibility it is necessary to reduce speed and increase the distance to the vehicle ahead, as well as to refuse frequent rearrangements, avoid sharp maneuvers and overtaking, strictly comply with the requirements of traffic rules related to the start of traffic, rearrangement, turning, turning and stopping. In case of a negative weather forecast, it is recommended to refrain from traveling long distances until the road situation improves, and in urban areas to use public transportation," - said "Izvestia" deputy head of the department of propaganda of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, police colonel Anton Belan.

The traffic police also urged parents to be extremely attentive and not to leave car keys in places accessible to children, thus allowing the possibility of the very fact of a dangerous trip.

The day before it was reported that budget revenues from fines for unpaid travel on federal toll roads for three years increased 6 times. Thus, in 2021-2024, federal budget revenues from fines for unpaid travel amounted to 2.9 billion rubles. At the same time, in 2024, which has not yet ended, the collections reached 976.3 million rubles.
