- The State Duma Committee approved an increase in fines for a number of traffic violations

The State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation has recommended the parliamentary chamber to adopt amendments, according to which the amount of administrative fines for some violations of traffic rules (traffic rules) would be increased. The corresponding document was published on December 10 in the database of the department.
The norms may be adopted when considering the second reading of the bill on the introduction of a fine for repeated driving without a MTPL policy.
Thus, if the amendments are adopted, the fine for failure to comply with the rules of seat belt use will increase from Br1 thousand to Br1.5 thousand. And the fine for drivers under the influence of alcohol will increase by 15 thousand - from Br30 thousand to Br45 thousand.
The fine for causing minor harm to health in violation of traffic rules may increase from Br2.5-5 thousand to Br3.7-7.5 thousand. As for medium harm to health, the fine will increase from Br10-20 thousand to Br15-30 thousand.
In addition, it is proposed to increase fines for violation of speed limits and non-compliance with road signs. Currently, they range from Br500 to Br5 thousand, now they want to set them at the level of Br750 to Br7.5 thousand. For residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the maximum size of sanctions is provided.
Earlier in the day it was reported that the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has developed amendments to the Budget Code, which would allow to redistribute revenues from fines for traffic violations in favor of the federal budget.
On December 6, the office of Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs , told Izvestia that a bill will be submitted to the Duma, which provides for exemption from fines for traffic violations from photo-video fixation cameras for owners of special service vehicles equipped with a blue flashing beacon.
Prior to that, November 26, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill to introduce a fine of up to Br5 thousand for repeated driving without a MTPL policy.
