The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost more than 200 servicemen in the Kursk region over the past 24 hours. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 10.

It is noted that units of the grouping of troops "North" defeated the formations of 12 brigades of the AFU in 10 settlements of the Kursk region.

"During the day the losses of the AFU amounted to more than 200 servicemen, eight armored combat vehicles, four vehicles and two mortars were destroyed," the agency pointed out.

At the same time, the AFU lost more than 39.6 thousand military personnel during the entire period of hostilities in the Russian region. Also, the Russian Armed Forces destroyed in the Kursk region 40 launchers of multiple rocket launchers (MLRS), 13 launchers of anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), seven transport and loading vehicles, 72 electronic warfare stations (REB), 13 radar stations (radar) of counter-battery warfare, four radars of air defense, 27 units of engineering and other enemy equipment.

Before that, on December 10, special forces of the Rosgvardiya after detection by UAV operators destroyed a pickup truck of the AFU in the Kursk region. It is specified that the driver and personnel of the AFU, who were in the vehicle at the time of the strike, were eliminated.

At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the calculations of the Grad MLRS of the "North" group of troops in the performance of firing tasks destroyed positions with manpower, military equipment, strongholds, observation posts of the AFU in the border area of the Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The operation to destroy the militants continues.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
