Arabica coffee prices hit a record high

Arabica coffee prices continue to grow amid concerns over the lack of supply in the market. This was reported by Interfax on December 10.
"Arabica futures in New York are trading at $3.42 per pound as of 13:00 Moscow time on Tuesday, Market Watch data show. Earlier in trading, the price rose to $3.461 per pound, which is the highest since these data began tracking in 1972" - the report said.
Experts expect supplies from Brazil to decline because of the severe drought the country has faced this year. There are also concerns about the yield of cheaper variety of coffee Robusta from Vietnam, which also suffered from unfavorable weather conditions.
Earlier, on December 2, it became known that the Director General of "Roschaykofe" Ramaz Chanturia predicted a rise in coffee prices in Russia in the first half of 2025. According to him, the cost of coffee will increase in varying degrees for different brands. The expert added that there is currently a gradual increase in coffee prices on exchanges.
