Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces liberated the village of Zheltoye in the DNR. This was carried out by units of the grouping of troops "Center".

Air defense means shot down three shells of the US HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system (MLRS) and 23 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the aircraft type during the day.

In addition, units of Troop Group Vostok improved their position along the front line and defeated the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of the settlements of Konstantinopol, Velyka Novoselka, Neskuchne and Vremivka in the DNR. Russian servicemen also repelled four counterattacks by enemy assault groups.

As the Defense Ministry specified, the Russian Armed Forces struck Ukrainian forces in 128 areas with operational-tactical aviation, attack UAVs, missile troops and artillery.

Thus, the units of the Southern Group of Forces continued advancing deep into the enemy's defense and repelled two counterattacks by assault groups. In this direction, the losses of the AFU amounted to up to 225 servicemen, a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier and three vehicles.

In total, 649 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 37,527 UAVs, 586 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19,720 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,500 MLRS combat vehicles, 19,334 field artillery and mortars, 29,123 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation.
