In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District from January 2025, women who have given birth to their firstborn child before the age of 30 will be able to receive a state payment of 3 million rubles under the housing program "Young Family". This was announced by the governor of the region Dmitry Artyukhov on December 10.

"From the new year, young families who need to improve their housing conditions will be able to receive a regional payment after the birth of a child. If the first-born appeared before the 30th birthday of the mom, we will pay three million rubles," - said in a message in the official Telegram-channel Artyukhov, which posted the main statements of the governor during the direct line with the population.

In addition, the head of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District said that women who give birth to any child under 36 years of age will be entitled to a lump-sum benefit of 1 million rubles from January 2025.

October 28, the press service of the Ministry of Labor said that Russia plans to allocate an additional Br2.7 trillion to extend the maternity capital program until 2030. The ministry specified that this will allow to provide 3.2 million families with the maternity capital.

Prior to that, on September 20, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that increasing the birth rate is one of Russia's top priorities. In July, he noted that the average birth rate in Russia is at 1.4. At the time, Peskov emphasized that this is comparable to European countries and Japan, and said that the government is doing a lot of work and implementing a whole set of measures to improve the situation.

August 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on a lump-sum payment of the unspent amount of up to 10 thousand rubles from the balance of the maternity capital. On September 16, the government approved the rules for its implementation.
