The relevant data were presented at a meeting of the committee and the Federal Operational Staff (FOS), which was held in Moscow under the leadership of NAC Chairman, Director of the Federal Security Service of Russia Alexander Bortnikov.
"Coordinated actions of law enforcement agencies at the stage of preparation prevented 190 terrorist attacks, of which six were prepared by participants of the banned in Russia movements "Maniacs cult of killers" and "Columbine" (both recognized in the Russian Federation as terrorist organizations. - Ed.) in educational institutions and places of mass stay of people," - stated in the message following the meeting.

In addition, more than 230 million rubles were blocked in the accounts of more than 6,000 persons involved in the financing of terrorism, including armed formations of Ukraine. More than 120,000 Internet materials with terrorist content were also removed.
At the moment, cooperation with foreign partners from friendly countries in countering terrorism is being strengthened, the NAC noted. In addition, proven effective approaches to creating anti-terrorist content are being implemented, and preventive work has been intensified in educational organizations.
As a result of the discussion, additional measures have been worked out to improve counteraction to terrorist threats in modern conditions, the committee concluded.
Earlier in the day, FSB officers detained a citizen of Russia and Germany, suspected of preparing a sabotage on the railroad in Nizhny Novgorod on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). In the man's house they found explosives and means of communication, on which there is correspondence with a representative of the Ukrainian special services. It turned out that the detainee is an adherent of the ideology of neo-Nazism. A criminal case has been opened under the article on sabotage.
In October, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that Russia remained at the forefront of the fight against terrorism. In particular, the country provides assistance in this area to those states that need it and provides the UN Counter-Terrorism Office with financial and expert support.
